We Raise Quality, AKC Great Danes
Allie has just had a litter of puppies sired by Diesel. Diesel has an AWESOME pedigree combined with excellent American and Euro lines. Puppies are 1/4 Euro and can be seen on our Facebook page. (Red Dirt Dogs)
About Us
We are located on a 10 acre farm in South Central Oklahoma just outside of Maysville, Oklahoma. We love our dogs and treat them like part of the family. They are not outside dogs that run loose in the fields, although they do enjoy a nice run outdoors. They are raised inside our home as part of our family. They go for rides in the vehicles with us, are featured in parades with us, and do just about everything with us that our human children do.
Touch of Grace Lives Up To Her Name
We have been so fortunate here at Red Dirt. When our trailer house burned down before we had our new home we were building finished we thought that we would never recover. The fact that we had no insurance on our trailer house weighed heavily on our minds on that terrible day. However, with the help of friends, family, and even strangers we did not know we finished our new home to the point that we could move into it within only a few days. In the days that followed more and more people donated to help us with clothes, furnishings, etc. and soon our house was filled with everything we needed. With the help of those around us and by the Grace of God we were able to build our home back up from the Red Dirt.
Since that time we have tried to give back to others in need whenever possible. So, when we were down to only one puppy left from our last litter of Great Danes and we saw and ad on Craigs list for a Deaf Great Dane to be donated to a mentally handicapped child to be used as a therapy dog we KNEW this was something we had to do. As we spoke to Laura, the child's mother, we found that her daughter Beth, who was 13, but mentally 5 had recently lost her Def Great Dane of 7 years and was terribly heartbroken. Laura was a single mother and, although she could afford to care for a Great Dane the money to actually purchase one was just not available. We explained to her that Grace was not def, but we would like to donate her to her for her daughter if she would like to have her. Laura joyously agreed and on May 1, 2010 Grace went to meet her new family. Beth was SOO EXCITED when she saw Grace, she cried and grabbed her and hugged her and kissed her!
Grace, whose Registered name is Red Dirt's Touch of Grace has definately touched both our lives and the lives of Laura and her family. She is, of course, being spoiled rotten and Beth has even given her her own pillow and blanket and we are told that Beth has decided to spend Grace's first night with them sleeping in the floor so that Grace can have her bed....."but just for tonight" Beth explained. :)
![]() Hope is our big baby as she was the first dane that we ever owned. She still thinks she is a lap dog and is content to follow "momma" around anywhere she goes. This is not the best quality picture of Hope, but it sure shows how happy she is here. :-) | ![]() Allie demonstrates how well she knows how to sit for her treat. (Our danes have sit down to a science. If the refrigerator door opens and they hear it they will sit no matter where they are. :-) |
![]() Ivan is our Eyore. He is the most slow paced boy you will ever meet. He does not get in a hurry to go anywhere....which is probably a good thing considering that he is outnumbered by the females. He is not even a year old yet and already weighs 125lbs. We can't wait to use him for breeding. | ![]() Silly is, as her name implies, our big ham. She wants to be the center of attention no matter what is going on. She may not be the biggest dane here yet, but she certainly is the most outgoing and is always full of energy! Silly is co-owned and is not QUITE ready to be bred yet but we are looking forward to the day that she is. |
